In chased and gilded bronze, depicting the theme of Love in a cage. Venus standing near Love who begs her to free him, on a post flanked by two winged sphinxes wearing a plume.

On a rectangular base, slightly protuding in the centre, decorated with a frieze, on corolla-shaped feet. 

The enamelled dial signed Armingaud L'Aîné in Paris. 

Period: early 19th century

Dimensions : h : 54 cm – l : 40,5 cm  – p : 15 cm

A pendulum of a similar model is kept at the Palacio Real in Madrid. 

A pendulum à la Sauvagette, belonging to the collections of the Museum of Toulouse, presents a dial signed by Armingaud l'Ainé in Paris.
