In chiseled, patinated, and gilded bronze, with three light arms decorated with griffin heads, derived from an antique-style oil lamp supported by Victory figures holding torches; the base is adorned on the front with an ath\u00e9nienne and flanked by reclining putti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very similar examples are held in several major collections. Indeed, a pair\u2014also with three prongs\u2014was once part of Pauline Borghese\u2019s collection and is now housed at the British Embassy in Paris, having been purchased by the Duke of Wellington in 1815. Another pair made for King Jerome of Westphalia is now housed at Homburg Castle, and a third pair is held in the Spanish Royal Collections at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez (Inv. 10028107 and 10028108).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
