Pair of Louis XVI period armchairs stamped by Pierre Brizard (1737-1804), master in 1772.
Carved wood, lacquered grey with green highlights and gilding. Square backs decorated with acanthus leaves in the spandrels and pearl friezes bordering a central medallion. Armrests with cuffs and console-style uprights decorated with piastre friezes and foliage. Curved waistband with floral connecting blocks. Tapered legs with rudentate fluting.
