Jean Mioduszevski, born 24 June 1831 in Popowo and died in 1906 in Paris is a Polish painter. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Saint-Peteresbourg under the direction of Carl Tilmeleon von Neff, he exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1865 and 1879.

He painted some beautiful views of Paris and the Seine. A view of the Hotel de Ville de Paris dating from 1868, and very similar to ours, belongs to the collection of The Carnavalet Museum in Paris. Our view is distinguished by the presence of many groups of personnages and the preparation of a feast which could be the July 14.

The presence of the new buildings of the Hôtel-Dieu allowed us to date this view at the early of the 1870s.
