After a model of Giambologna, Jean de Bologne (1529-1608), circa 1570. Jean de Bologne made two versions of this bronze, the first is signed, and the second is documented around 1587.
This last version of Walking Mars has been also executed by Giovanni Francesco Susini (1575-1653) in the second quard of 17th century. This bronze belonged to the Palazzo Corsini in Florence, and has been sold, it belongs now to the Robert H. Smith collection of bronze sculptures masterpieces.
