Console en bois doré d’époque Louis XIV – France fin 17ème siècle
En bois mouluré, sculpté et doré, le dessus de brèche rouge à large lingotière ornée d’une frise d’oves et de fleurs ; la ceinture à fond quadrillé et à motif de fleurs présente une large feuille d’acanthe centrale flanquée de volutes feuillagées ; reposant sur quatre pieds en gaine, réunis par une entretoise en X à motif de feuilles et fleurs.

Jean de Bologne réalisa ce bronze vers 1620, l’original appartient aux collections du musée du Louvre à Paris (OA9521) et provient des collections du roi de France Louis XIV (1643-1715). Le sujet est inspiré des Métamorphoses d’Ovide.
